Barcelona plan to sell Ansu Fati after Brighton loan

The La Masia prodigy Ansu Fati will reportedly be permanently sold by Barcelona after the end of this season, according to SPORT.

Due to injuries and the rise of other attackers, Fati, who was once seen as the club’s future, has fallen out of favour at Barcelona.

The 20-year-old forward was sent on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion on the day of the transfer window since he has recently dropped in the club’s hierarchy.

Though President Joan Laporta and coach Xavi have said he will remain a part of the team’s future plans after the current campaign, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

Barcelona will probably see similar challenges in 2024 after having to manoeuvre their way out of difficult positions during the summer transfer window this year.

The club’s financial status is not ideal, and there are worries that expenditure may once again be constrained in the summer of 2024.

As a result, if Barcelona wants to add new players to bolster their team, player exits are going to be vital.

The Blaugrana think Fati may serve as an excellent option to produce income this summer when they need to sell players once more.

As a result, the strategy is to either permanently sell him or utilise him in a trade for one of their objectives.

According to the report, teams in the Premier League are interested in Ansu Fati and are monitoring his performance and physical development while on loan at Brighton.

The 20-year-old netted the Seagulls’ inaugural goal in their most recent loss at Aston Villa on Saturday. Barcelona is also hoping that he expands on this and has a fruitful loan period in England.
