Manchester United to decide Erik ten Hag’s future after FA Cup final

Notwithstanding the mounting pressure on Erik ten Hag following Monday night’s crushing loss at Crystal Palace, Manchester United plans to keep the manager prior to this month’s FA Cup final.

The 4-0 loss leaves United unable to make it to Europe the next season, and former players like Paul Scholes and Michael Owen have called for his immediate firing.

However, Mail Sport has learned that Ten Hag won’t be fired before United plays Manchester City in the FA Cup final on May 25 at Wembley.

With four games remaining until the season ends—three in the Premier League and the FA Cup final—it is thought that there will be little benefit to Ten Hag’s removal.

If Manchester United defeats City at Wembley, Erik ten Hag might feel that he can stay in charge for a third season, but the ultimate call will be made following that game.

After a disappointing season, a number of players are thought to believe that Ten Hag’s fate has already been decided.
