Getafe president Angel Torres has stated that Mason Greenwood will not be returning to Manchester United for the upcoming campaign, and he anticipates the forward staying in Spain.
Greenwood, 22, moved from Manchester United to Getafe on a season-long loan in September after prosecutors ended a criminal investigation into an alleged attempted rape.
After pictures and videos of him were made public online, he was charged with assault and controlling and coercive behaviour against a lady. As a result, he hadn’t played for United since January 2022.
“Yes, Man United are prepared to sell Greenwood in case they receive a good proposal”. He could stay here for one more year, we will see”, Ángel Torres told Radio Marca.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a co-owner of New United, stated last month that no determination was currently made about Greenwood’s future, but ESPN was informed by club sources that an extended exit in the summer is still the most likely scenario. In 32 games for the Spanish team in every competition, he has 10 goals and six assists.
ESPN stated just recently that Greenwood’s Old Trafford future was still up for debate. Although Barcelona’s desire to purchase Greenwood has diminished, Atlético Madrid has also shown interest in doing so.
According to ESPN sources, Greenwood and his family have made a good adjustment to Spain, with any initial antagonism soon dissipating.
