World Cup winning Argentina star set to stay at Atletico Madrid after Al-Ahli transfer collapses

As per Fabrizio Romano, Rodrigo De Paul’s move to Saudi side Al-Ahli has collapsed after the midfielder turned down the offer and wants to remain at Atletico Madrid.

Despite the market for transfers swiftly coming to a conclusion, Atletico Madrid is fighting to keep one of their key players.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Al Ahli, a member of Saudi Arabia’s emergent richer, is interested in Rodrigo de Paul. The Italian transfer guru asserts that de Paul has become their top priority for the last part of the transfer period as a result of their failed efforts to acquire Piotr Zielinski from Napoli.

Romano disagrees with the notion that Los Colchoneros will try to make matters as tough as possible.

In short, everything has a cost, and Atletico will undoubtedly reach a breaking point. They made a €35 million investment in de Paul a year ago from Udinese, and their time in Madrid has been uneven.

However, he finally recovered his form in the second part of the last campaign, displaying the traits that have made him so vital for Argentina.

It appears that Atletico’s commitment to keeping him will be put to the test just as he finds his footing. Al Ahli will also have to pay more because there isn’t much time left in the market.

De Paul transferred from the Italian team, Udinese, to Spain in 2021 for €35 million, and Atletico must convince them to sell a crucial player. Fortunately for Al-Ahli, they have a sizable war chest that can entice virtually any football player to join them.

It is difficult to imagine Atletico rejecting if they make the player an offer for a significant sum and a sizable salary. Additionally, if the World Cup winner decides to depart, he may join Al-Ahli in the coming weeks.
