Cristiano Ronaldo was possibly ‘fooled’ into signing for Al Nassr and should return to Real Madrid, Brazil legend claims
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on a 2-1/2 year contract after leaving Manchester United.
Ronaldo, departed from Old Trafford, and joined Al Nassr on a deal until 2025 but the club did not disclose any financial details.
Ronaldo’s contract has been estimated by media to be worth more than 200 million euros ($214.04 million).
Since then, the five time Ballon D’or winner has scored 12 times. But despite receiving a hero’s welcome, former Brazil legend Rivaldo believes the 38-year-old could be unhappy in his new surroundings.
“I understand that sometimes the players are fooled by the big contract they sign in Saudi Arabia but then life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as expected,” Rivaldo told Mundo Deportivo.
“So, you may be going through a phase of some disappointment and even reflection. If the money you’re getting makes up for the not-so-happy life you’re living right now.
“It would be good for him and for football to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Real Madrid to finish his career.
Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Saudi Arabia with a vast collection of club honours after a glittering spell at Spanish giants Real Madrid from 2009-18 where he won two LaLiga titles, two Spanish Cups, four Champions League titles and three Club World Cups.
